I sit on sand
soaked
sinking
sand
and i push
push the waves
across the ocean
all the way to where
you stand on sand
hot
firm
sand
ready to walk
ready to run
ready to fly
so i sit on the sand
my hands burnt from the salt
and wait wait wait wait wait
for all eternity
and push push push push push
for all of time
and you run
and you fly
away from the sand
away from the sun
away from the waves
forever

This poem was inspired by my experience of being in love with someone who always felt an ocean away and realizing that the love wan not reciprocal.
