Cry Wolf

You’ve watched these cars
and raised these bars to levels
not exceeded or repeated
by anyone until you say so.

You’ve screamed more times
and wrote more rhymes than I have
ever gasped for breath, in death,
I will not mourn you.

Until your lies subside
these flies will not go away,
they’ll stay unless you tell the honest truth
of how you keep on living.

And when I watch your cars and bars
fade away, you know I’ll stay
unless you lie, and still,
I will not mourn you.
