Light of Sky

The backyard glistens with a natural glow
that carries away the sun and brings night.
As a bird drops down for its last flight
and the dog escapes for its last adventure,
the world sleeps to the tune of this dim light.
And as darkness protrudes into the backyard,
the light of the sky reflects the last sparkle in a young boy eye.
As the boy and his long summer fall to sleep,
the moon rises gleaming with might
shining over his young memories
that will stay with him,
as long as the moon rises and falls
to the tune of his passionate, beating heart
