Drifting Away

A sweet Sparrow sits
on a tree

She sings a song
that begs of me

to fall asleep in
a foggy haze

To dream of
snowfall and brighter days

To calm myself
and think
a while

To pray
of hope
Slaughtered smiles

would it
a tragedy

should she
decide to
wake me?

My dream

To suddenly.
shaking me.


And he
would return

only to discover
