Remembering life
In apartment 1F
Mom and dad by my side,
I was princess
Dancing barefoot to cassettes
Hardwood floors
Wearing my white T-shirt
Not wanting anything more
My young minded ignorance
Provided endless bliss
Not a care in the world
No thoughts or enigmatic decisions
Just sleeping on the squashy
Black sofa
With my pet beagle as a pillow
Watching cartoons
Not thinking of where I should be
What I need to accomplish
The only emotion I knew
Was happiness
When I’m feeling down
I think of 1F
And reminisce
Of when I lived life in a fog of childish
Bliss
If I were to return
The long dark hallways
Would have echoes of my laughter
My crayon drawings would have
Been painted away without pain
But in my mind the memories
Of 1F
Will forever remain
