Heaven rests beside my shoals,
Near the nooks and hearty knolls.
Where olive tones of brush and grass,
Are by the bay of pristine glass.

In the suns of eastern skies
There the hallowed ivy lies,
Crossed with blessed Eden’s hue,
It sits beside acquiescent dew.

For dusk prevails, in wake of light:
The silhouette of God’s delight.
Morning hush and scarlet trees,
Early hours, ten degrees.

Ere the falls of cold lament,
December has its last descent.
Snowy bluffs on silver hills,
Perfect then, and perfect still.

April hails a warm caesura,
Rains sustain the ample aura.
Caught along the drafts of spring,
May intones its fruitful ring.

Hallelujah, heaven grace,
Always by my river base.
Overlooks the garden wall,
Watch my window, see it all.
