inhale deep...
the smoke

it twists and burns

now scorched
your lungs,
life's conduits,
threaten to burst

do not forget

...exhale

The author's comments:
This poem speaks of the plethora of emotions that just scrap us raw and wear us out; anger, fear, loneliness, heartbreak, sorrow, anxiety, and so many more. May these emotions be as smoke. Take a drag and then let it all go, but do not forget the burn.
