Goodnight hugs and grassy kisses,
Running in the field so as not to be ridden
These are the things i miss about you bud.
Cantering through the grass
And eat'n blackberries
Those are the things i remember you for bud.
Soaring through the air, feel like I'm flying,
Falling to the ground, and open my eyes to see you standing above me,
Wondering why i'm all the way down there.
I think of this because I love you bud
Then that last night, leading you back and forth,
Pleading "please don't give up on me bud,
Please don't try to roll. I know it hurts but I NEED you bud."
I've never cried as hard as I did during that last goodbye
As I walked away I remembered these times
I knew I wouldn't, couldn't, forget Amos, my best friend

The author's comments:
Amos was my haflinger gelding. In winter of 2008, when he was 24 years old, he had a case of colic, and we had to put him down because he was in too much pain
