I held a sea shell to my ear
and listened to it's stories,

of tumbling waves
and white smooth sand,
of brillant vivid corals
and bright anemones
blooming beneath the sea

it tells of seagulls
flying overhead
diving for fish
gracefully
and of smooth, silver dolphins
laughing, leaping cheerfully
the ocean is their playground

I held a sea shell to my ear
and listened to it's stories,
the tales seemed tall
too astounding to be true
but I never stopped listening
