I waited slowly as this pain raced through
my body
consuming my very being
pulling me down into an endless pit
tightening its grip
smothering me
taking away my very breath
feeling helpless
vulnerable
my body starts to give way
as i hit my knees
i look up to the sky counting stars
finally realizing
maybe there is an end to this pit
that i dug for myself
