I have tried to accept your belligerence
I have tried to cope with your dependence
Yet as time creeps on I grow weary
And just barely restrain my defiance.
As I begin to lash out, you refuse to recoil
Chiding me, despite my trouble and toil
Don’t stare, don’t ask, don’t demand my attention!
Retorts stick in my throat that I try not to mention.
But this inflicted monotony, this interminable expectence
Will surely cause rifts with the end of my tolerance.
