Soft skin and blue eyes

Everyone loves you

Huge in society and admired

Everyone loves you

A great mother and wife

Everyone loves you

Duchess oh Duchess

Why then do you fall?

Tumble down stairways

Stand in the way of horses?

Beg death to visit?

Only because you can't make bare a son

Only because you asked for love

Only because you used you soft voice

With your strong words.

Your body has been through so much

It has been used and thrown all around

And all you beg now to earth is simple

To be born in rags and humiliation

Just so you weren't in this high place of power

Your husband and his mistresses hate you

Your best friend betrays you

Your own mother just lets it all happen

Yet you just take it all

For Duchess all you want is love

But Duchess, oh Duchess

How can anyone not love you
