I was just a little girl

Long brunette hair

Sage green eyes

Freckles overlaying my face

I get off of the bus

With the biggest smile on my face

A hand-drawn picture in my hands

Overly excited to show my mom

What I had crafted at school

I run up to the door of my

Big white house

Black trim covering the windows and doors

I open the door

Run up the stairs

Through the halls

Into my parent's room

My mom was lying there

In her bed

Cans of beer

Bottles of wine

Covering her nightstand

She was passed out

I knew exactly what happened

This wasn’t the first time

Tears start to fill my innocent eyes

As I ran to my room

I hated it

It happened
A lot

I had gotten used to it

Until one day

I got home from school

She was

Gone

it was about my childhood and the relationship that I had lost because of her alcohol addiction.
