The sweetness of the frosting as we lick the spoon
The carols hum on the radio
The seasonal candle that smells of fresh pine
Stealing a cookie before bed
Sleeping while knowing what the day ahead brings
You wake to a sibling jumping on the bed
It's Christmas they yell you run up the stairs
The cold floor hits your bare feet
Your parents sitting on the couch
The dog lays in front of the fire
