By
     glass on pine needles
try defying gravity
until they succumb
hills
a wave of green silk
vibrancy and life renewed
soon to come, dead brown

daffodils
still snowing, they bloom
families braving the cold
in three weeks, they die
spring
ephemeral birth
filled with initial color
then quick suffering
