Favorite Quote:
"There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar:
I love not Man the less, but Nature more."
-Lord Byron

ive heard the phrase

"my heart beating out of my chest"

many times before

and ive never felt it

but today

i did feel

my heart beating

as i lay in the grass

beating hard

beating fast

beating through my back

beating into the ground

i could feel my heart beating into the earth

i pressed myself further

into the dirt

feeling every blade of grass

pricking every exposed inch of me

i felt the wind

tickling me

my stomach, my arms, my face

it didnt touch my legs and im not sure why

maybe i just couldnt feel it

i pushed tips of grass

back and forth

and forth and back

between my fingers

i listened to the birds

i counted at least twelve different calls

i opened my eyes to see them

but i only saw the sky

and three trees

i couldnt decide

if the sky was blue with white clouds

or white with blue clouds

i heard a dog collar jingle

and i got up

everything was tinted blue for a few minutes

but i skated just fine
