The Ocean
The ocean is a dangerous place
An undercurrent of disastrous thoughts just waiting to spill,
A bottle of spills asking to be swallowed
The ocean has labels:
Drink me
Don't eat me
The list goes on as you swim deeper through the list;
You get more and more curious: what does each label do to me?
You can’t stop once you start because it becomes addictive,
You want to know what secrets the labels hold.
These secrets make you feel so good:
Drink me.
Don’t eat me.

I wrote as I wanted to compare the ocean's deep, dark waters and dangerous undercurrents to how people deal with eating disorders or substance abuse.
