Dear Parents,
Sometimes your kids will hate you.
And their words will really hurt.
You’ll never feel a pain like this
When they value you less than dirt
Don’t let their poison get to you
Don’t let their words get in your head
Don’t listen to their angry words
When they wish that you were dead
Value the days when they are children
When they don’t know how to hate
Love the days when they believe in cooties
And don’t worry about their weight
Being a parent is hard
Being a good parent is harder
When he’s grown, protect him
And when she’s grown, guard her
