Tidal Wave of a Glimpse
Glimpse.
Just a glimpse
Jittery genuine glimpse
Sharply sneak a glimpse
Across the ginormous group
Of grins and giggles
Glimpse of a
Boy.
Just a boy;
Not just a boy.
Please don't snap
I snap
I stand
I stare
I sprint
Flooding,
Falling,
Frantically finding a way
To escape
From a glimpse
Not just a glimpse
A montage
Of all the little glimpses.
Glimpse of frequent texts
And broken promises.
Glimpse of his lips on mine
That night in November.
Glimpse of his arms wrapped around me
on late February nights.
Glimpse of more than
Just a boy
That dumb boy
Lost boy
How could a boy?
Why would a boy?
The I told you about that boy
Always late boy
Stoner boy
Dumb boy
How could a boy?
Why would a boy?
From just a friend kind of boy,
Best friend kind of boy,
To flirty boy,
And I will never forget about
My boy.
I loved that boy,
But he always was
Just
A dumb boy.
Why would a boy?
How could a boy...
Just
Give up?
The tidal wave that all began
With a jittery genuine glimpse
Just a glimpse
A glimpse
At The
Wrong
Boy.

This piece was inspired by seeing someone who once was a big part of my life in a daily aspect again. This poem is just a glimpse of the anxiety that comes with being trapped within a high school cafeteria with the same people everyday especially when it’s ones you no longer are able to connect with.
