I am unsure of what to do.

Can I hug her?

Can I hold her?

Can I tickle her?

These thoughts race through my mind.

Will I hurt her?

Will she like me?

Will I make her laugh?

Why do people become so determined

On making sure a 6-pound human being

Approves of them?

Whatever the reason,

I do not care.

The front door opens to the massive Californian home

And the time has come.

Although I am joyous to see my aunt and uncle

I can only think of one thing:

When will I meet this bundle of joy?

In a polka dotted pink jumpsuit

With the tiniest of white socks,

I see her.

A sleepy, yet smiley face

Completely consumes me.

I cannot say the words hello,

For she will not understand me,

But I can only make the dumbest baby faces

And hope that she knows

This is the greatest hello

I could have ever asked for.
