"Never underestimate the courage it takes to just keep going" ~Ashley Wylde

Through the rubbage and despair

Claimed by flames that filled the air

You remain standing

-slightly in ruins-

But still there

You knew days that grew old

And hearts that grew weary

Sights that grew bloody

And gave people memories they'd carry

For a lifetime

And suddenly parts of you fall

During my life

Worry spreads

Like the fire that consumed you

Giving in as you are cast ablaze

Fiery red unlike passion, but more like danger

Your memory preserved in pictures

And paintings

In history books

And brains

That will one day all fall away

Like you have

Ruins still stand

Stronger than I imagined

And I wonder what is upon the debris

Even as you fall

And will grow new again

You are preserved forever

In history

This is after the fire that recently burned some of the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, France.
