Her heart was full
Mother and baby’s eyes met
Her tiny fingers squeezing tight
Love smiled
A tear rolled down her face
Through the scraped knees,
Hurt feelings, life’s challenges
Love cried
She stood tall with head held high
Gone away to college
Confident on her own
Love was proud
