I’m a long way from lost

But still a long way from fine

It doesn’t happen in a day

To say I’m better will take time

To lose who you are

Is a process in itself

But reversing the damage

Is harder then to just erase

I can scrub my skin clean

Making it red and raw

But when I look at my face

I know what my eyes saw

The scars have begun to fade

But somehow they’re deeper than my skin

I even have begun to miss them

For me the blade was my only kin

But still I try everyday

And even more so in the nights

I tell myself all the time

That this is a fight I can win

The more I say so

The more I begin to believe

Now when I look at my skin

I no longer pull at my sleeves

I’m a long way from lost

But still a long way from fine

It doesn’t happen in a day

But I’ll be better in time
