Yearning is the kiss
that never happened.
The departure of
lovers, extreme
torture one feels
when one’s brethren bereaves.
Homes that existed naught
and brooks of passion
that shall never dry up.
The ability to fix mistakes
of the timeless past
and the possibility
of never looking back.
Yet, yearn do people to
never die, an eternity
of sleep does sound peaceful.
