My Anchor
I am drowning in the same sea everyday
Some days I am so below the surface
That I can’t breathe,
My lungs start to collapse
And my heart starts to beat rapidly
No air is able to get in
My mind starts to race
And I start to freak out
I desperately claw for the surface
But I never get it
I continue to sink
But then you appear
You are my anchor
You help me breathe
My lungs open back up
My heart starts to slow
And I begin to calm down
Now
I look for you when I am lost
When I can’t find you
I start spiraling
I start to panic
Tears start to form
You make me weak
And you make me strong
In the midst of the sea
You are the only thing that keeps me alive
You are my beacon of light
My hero
My anchor
I need you in my life
You keep me sane and hopeful
I cannot lose you
When I do I lose hope
In finding a person that will claim me as their own
Please save me from drowning
Help me grow
Please call me daughter
So I can call you father
