The cries
The sorrow
The worry for family
The hope to see your bed again
Why they chose this life we will never understand
The life of killing innocent people
The life of never having freedom again
We say we are safe in our own homes
But doors can be unlocked
Windows can be broken
The heartache never goes away
The news is never happy
And we are never safe
We are forever changed.
