Child’s Play (based upon the NYT article “Poetry Pairing/To My Dear & Loving Husband”)
At an early age they fell in love
They were perfect for eachother just like two turtle doves.
A woman elated a man
Their love’s hourglass never ran out of sand
Even with all their sorrow,
Their comfort from eachother gave them hope for tomorrow
Their love was as simple as child’s play
Most people could not comprehend all the late nights caring for eachother
Then again it was not for the outside man to understand
Since the beginning
They were together as one,
Not a woman nor just a man
He always promised to be there
Even if it was just by the slightest touch of hand
The strength of their love conquered all
Then the movie played again
