Favorite Quote:
“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”-Albus Dumbledore

Glass girl, glass girl is it really you?

She who cries finally debuts

Emerging from deep down inside

The part we thought had long ago died

Heavy tears fell from her eyes

Each droplet filled to the brim with lies

Shrapnel firing from a gun

Shattering in more ways than one

Glass girl, glass girl is it really you?

She who cries finally debuts

Emerging from deep down inside

The part we thought had long ago died

Our mirror hanging on the wall

Do you break from feelings or from fall?

A slight of hand and all is gone

No longer will each day form a new dawn

Glass girl, glass girl is it really you?

She who cries finally debuts

Emerging from deep down inside

The part we thought had long ago died

Once she’s broken, it’s truly over

No wishing on a shooting star, a four leaf clover

She is gone beyond repair

Because we treated her like she wasn’t there

Glass girl, glass girl is it really you?

She who cries finally debuts

Emerging from deep down inside

The part we thought had long ago died

Sadness needs to stay at bay

It’s not her fault she was made this way

She gives us what we crave to feel

Because grief is better than feelings that aren’t real

The author's comments:

We all have our inner sadness inside, and of course, we like to shut it down. This is because the world today teaches us that we should push down our feelings. This poem demonstrates the true effects of this.
