Mom,
I’m so sorry to tell you
That I missed the bus
I was letting out the dog
When he began to run away,
Far and fast
So I ran after him
Which was hard, and
I wasn’t wearing shoes
I barely made it to him
By the time I grabbed his collar
It was too late
I watched as the bus
Passed me by,
Yellow and bright
And now I feel sick. It was cold
Outside without my jacket.
I think I should stay home today.
