Lurking Storm
Heavenly skies drip from rutilant rays
As the sun becomes presently evanescent
To the blinking eye.
Clouds above roll in tilting tumultuous
Greys and ominous blacks.
Grief assimilates my heart,
Sinking into depths of soil below.
Fistfuls of sodden grass keep
Me from floating away into unconsciousness.
Baleful vines entwine my veins
To hold me still in awaiting darkness.
I cannot help but to fear
The roaring thunder in the distance.
