Only a matter of time
Moments dissolve,
Only a memory.
Trying create a blockade of toothpicks
Blocking the tides of fate's unforgiving touch,
Only to be washed away.
Lovers become strangers,
Tell me to stay.
Now to sit alone in a parked car at midnight,
There is no escape found.
Only the lost wander by themselves.
Seeking any sense of comfort under the rolling waves of constant belittlement.
The lonely are forgotten,
The happy live on.
How did we get here?
It was just a matter of time.
