The Unexplained
There are always times when you witness something pleasurable,
But it only occurs once in your life
You may eat the most delicious meal you have ever had
Only to forget what it was
Or where you found the food
You could experience a feeling beyond your ken
Only to leave that feeling unexplained
Or how you were able to attain it
You can even gain lucid knowledge of an unanswered question
But lack the words to describe it out loud
Both to yourself, and to others
Still, the moment for which you truly yearn
Is to meet the most interesting, droll, whimsical, yet mindful person you have ever met
Only to lose them, and never see them again after just one day
One day of eating the most delicious meal with them
Only to forget the taste and texture of what made it so enjoyable
One day of feeling serenity and understanding with that person
Only to lose it and forget how it felt once that person is gone
One day to fully understand your own role in the world, and how you can impact it
Only to lose that sense of purpose and leave your inner knowledge unspoken
Since you were only able to find it with the help of that friend
Still, the best thing from that experience you can keep
Is the knowledge that there will be a profusion of similar experiences
As long as you open yourself to the world.
