It was finally the big game,
I wanted them to do their thing,
I wanted them to win the game,
I wanted a perfect shut-out.

It started a little rocky,
Since there was no score in the first,
But I still had faith that they would,
Determine that they could win this.

And then there was the first touchdown,
It was for the opposing team,
And then another score to lead,
To what some thought would be our grief.

At almost the end of the half,
They scored yet another touchdown,
We still had nothing on the board,
But then was the game-saving field goal.

I thought as they entered halftime,
Just what were they going to do,
As the score was twenty-one three,
I would not have thought it to be.

Then our team decided to turn
On the jets we had been saving,
And then there came our first touchdown
We’d been saving for the right time.

There was the signal for the last
Quarter of this devastation
Which we would do our very best
Turn turn the game to our favor.

The opposing team countered with
yet another painful touchdown,
But we know had the momentum
That would lead us to victory.

We were trying so hard to just
Get a few more points on the board.
So we decided to settle
For just another safe field goal.

We decided to go for it
And we struck deep down the sideline
To number eleven who had
Engraved us with motivation.

Then one more play to a touchdown
Had us in the winning spirit
That we would use to score one more
With the catch that shocked everyone.

Now was the time to show spirit
Of the Patriots we stood for.
We must go into overtime
To defeat the raging falcons.

Twenty-eight to twenty-eight now,
And we got them to kick to us.
They were so sure that they would win
They didn’t realize we were Pats.

Then with only a few passes we were upfield
With the momentum of a jet
Grinding down the last few seconds
With a toss right to the touchdown.

The whistle blows, everyone stops.
They play is put on the big screen
And everyone doubting saw it.
It was was in the end zone.

The crowd goes crazy, players too,
Well, just the members of the Pats
Because they knew they’d been part of
The greatest comeback of all time.
