I have not failed, I just found 10,000 ways to not succeed.

All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.

Don't tell me you feel this pain
Because this pain you've never known.
The loss of a brother,
The grief of his mother,
Can make me feel entirely alone.

Don't tell me he's in a better place
Because he should be in my own arms.
The loss of a child
Make my feelings wild.
Who knew your words could do so much harm.

Don't tell me things will return to normal
Because things will never be the same.
The loss of his laugh,
Split my heart in half,
I can never get over this pain.

Just be there for me when times are hard.
Help me make him feel remembered.
We may be apart
But he's in my heart.
And I'll forgive you forever.

This will be the last thing I'll write in this section of the article because either I don't have anything to say or something that I don't want to say. This poem is mostly what I heard during the first year of my grieving process. This is also how others mostly felt during this first year. Enjoy.

Procrastination rules the nation!

This is beautifully written. I've never personally lost someone, but I've had many friends who have. And you're right, they don't want to hear things like 'he/she is in a better place'. They really just need someone to be there for them and remember those who were lost with them. I know it's hard to lose someone, but try not to dwell on it too much. Don't let there death control you're life, but instead continue to be the wonderful person you are. Live to become someone they would be proud of, and remember them in what you do.
