And I know that’s true

Smirking with joy in your eyes
I ask, “What’s up?”
And your answer takes me by surprise

About how heaven and earth aligned
To make this beautiful creature before me
That I gladly call mine.”
How is it possible
That he feels the same way about me?
The same happiness, the same beauty
Of the world he allows me to see
But, staring into his eyes
Warm honey melting my heart
It’s hard not to believe
That he’s loved me from the start
I chuckle at my foolishness
Blushing cheeks red hot
How can he love you
When he’s beautiful and you’re … not?
I look up at him again
His eyes staring amusedly back
Memorizing my face
Overlooking everything I lack
He pulls me into his arms
And I laugh a little too loudly
He rests his chin on my head
And I think to myself proudly
