The snowflakes fly
They dance the skies
In swirling patterns of white and gray.
The wind plays strings
And also sings
As the snow brightens up a winter’s day.
The waters freeze
As the winter breeze
Brings cold across the lands.
Jack Frost is there
The earth and air
Inside his frosty hands.
The chickadee
In the skeleton tree
Adds his song to the symphony
The forest rings
As Nature sings
In a seasonal harmony.
Bare branches creak
The mountains speak
Tales older than time, have they,
And the snowflakes whirl
In flurries, twirl
And dance to the music of the day.
