"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." ~Dr. Suess

The sun begins to rise, on this world we've made.

One person's lie, brought on all this hate.

A difference in opinion, a difference in belief;

One single deciscion, brought on all this grief.

Judgement for judgement, we justify our actions.

Flaunting our resenment. we kill with a passion.

We hurt those like us, and those who are much better.

We've betrayed all trust, and turned on one another.

Originally designed for peace, all we are is destruction.

Now I'm begging please, stop acting and just listen.

If we give up all we have, and embrace just who we are;

We can learn from our past, and mend our old scars.

What we fail to see, is the truth behind our hate;

But even as I speak, I find that it's too late.

Now as the sun climbs higher, I open up my eyes.

All of our desires, brought on our demise.

The author's comments:

In school we were learning about the holocaust and in my personal life my sister was being bullied and so I sat down one night and wrote this poem to maybe open up some eyes. We are our own enemy. By destroying other people we're destroying ourselves and filling our world with hatered and grief.
