“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”
― William W. Purkey

A tale of love I sing to yall,
For spring has come, the hell with fall.
Once I lived, then I loved,
And when I loved I learned to live.
Although yearned and earned,
It may sometimes feel as if you’ve been shived.

One must fall a thousand times,
Amongst the thorns, nettles and spines.
Existing in loves absence, is the essence of dismay,
When prey falls weak one begins to say.

Lord oh lord I beg of you,
Take this burden and rid it from me.
I guess I never knew what true love was,
Never thought it came with so much fuss.

Under all the pain and tears filled with grief,
I learned that live isn’t always about me.
I opened up my heart and gave it to you,
And you spit it back out like a tin of chew.

Cause the guys round here don’t know how to treat a lady,
You gotta treat her right like a new born baby.
Gentle soft and sweet is how you do it right,
If you cant do that then your askin for a fight.

Lord oh lord I beg of you,
Take this burden and rid it from me.
I guess I never knew what true love was,
Never thought it came with so much fuss.

Don’t be fooled them country girls can fight,
They aint the b****in and hair pullin type.
It’s a risk your gonna take when your looking for love,
But I wouldn’t break her heart if I were you,
Cause between her and daddy there fixen for a fight.
