I look at the box, it's empty
I burned all the letters you sent me
All those love letters written in pen
The story of our love dripped in sin

The paper is buried under burning coals
Burning our dreams we held as goals
The story of us burst into flames
Putting all of our hopes to shame

A small little ember comes inside
Causing my heard at the edges to fry
My heart at the edges are now burned
The pain of love is something I've learned

I lay down watching a dark black sky
Thinking of how love is nothing but a lie
I look at the papers floating in the wind
While on the ground tears and ashes blend

The author's comments:
After you have your heart broken, you either dwell on the sadness or you red yourself of all memories of your love. This is a poem about getting rid of all the memories. For example, getting rid of love letters.
