“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”
― Dr. Seuss

The lightning’s flash holds no comparison to the fire in your eyes
Thunder could never diminish the beating of your hooves

The leather strung around you head can never keep you bound
Your muscles quiver in majesty comparable only to the ocean’s waves
You only allow me to stay on your back only because you want me there

Turn your massive, magnificent head towards me
Let me see your mane blow like the autumn leaves

Come to me, you gallant beast
Show me why I love again
Brave the wind that stings me in the face
Protect me from how bad it hurts

Take me away from this world
Open your stride to stretch across this earth
Ascend higher than the eagles
Take me above
Take me home

I wrote this as I thought about one of God's most amazing creatures; wild horses. There is no such thing as a tame horse, each and every one of them is wild. There is only a human wild enough to to be accepted by the horse it wishes to ride.
