Sir Knight, may you take off your sheath?
I wish to know what hides beneath.
Reveal your reason, state your aim,
Your motives all please do proclaim.
Heed! Glory's gilded mask you wear!
Of truth and hardships be aware!
There's much that fortune won't fulfill,
Nor power, nor greed, nor exalted skill.
If fame plays a fanfare wherever you go,
Of love and contentment you will never know.
