By , Ridgefield, CT
I was told to dig them out
Before they spread their seeds
And scatter snow around to sprout
Into these evil weeds;

So I march over, spade in hand
Ready to destroy and raze
Each spot of gold across the land
Shining out their numbered days

The flowers nod their yellow heads
They know I know that I have won
For how can I destroy these beds
Of golden offspring of the sun?
