A poem for you,
That's what I'll do,
A poem for you,
To keep us true.

The face I've never seen,
I wonder what you mean,
The words we never spoke,
The silence to revoke.

The pain and despair,
A heart with a tear,
A lonely still-ful night,
That's blackened with no light.

The love that I had,
Truly makes me glad,
But the love that had to go,
Fills me with such woe.

The token upon my chest,
It really is your crest,
And everything I fear,
Just seems to disappear.

The truth remains a shroud,
Covered by that cloud,
Until you rise again,
To be my trusted friend.

You'll be in my heart,
As long as we're apart.
And when I reach your land,
I'll never leave your hand.

A poem for you,
That's what I'll do,
A poem for you,
To keep us true.
