Keeping time over this callous heart of mine

This clock in my heart has never felt so alive

My heart is still beating warm even when I feel so cold

This clock in my heart, was everything just a lie?

I never looked past the mirror to the other side

So focused on being the dream I was scared to be myself

Orchids silently wept while their tears were frozen by the frost

I focused so much on what I had to gain, it hurt to remember what I've lost

[Bridge] I was just ticking away hours of my life

Hoping you'd come back someday, rain or sun or ice

[Chorus] The wilting has begun, when the bluebirds have sung

Your words echo quietly, but in my head these bells have rung (x2)

The child and elder likewise in a dream, youth and death never mattered to me

The flowers we planted grew so cold, but we burned them at the root of life

Warm my heart while this clock keeps ticking away night after night

My clock can't keep track of time when it's surrounded in ice

Bridge] I was just ticking away hours of my life

Hoping you'd come back someday, rain or sun or ice

[Chorus] The wilting has begun, when the bluebirds have sungYour words echo quietly, but in my head these bells have rung (x2)
