Potent Love
She keeps asking "why?"
And I have but a clue
My heart is in a bind
And I'm acting like a fool

I still replay those precious moments
The ones I rarely get to glimpse
 His love is infectious, potent
But it also does not exist.

The beautiful boy in front of me
 Well, he just can't see
I've been standing here, a devotee
 Not here to just sight-see

 I'm waiting to understand
 Figure him out
See if I'll be able to withstand
 What he's all about

 So she keeps asking "why?"
And I have but one answer
I need to see, if there will ever be
 A "he and I"
