this mask i wear
to hide the shame
to hide my words
to hide my name

this mask i wear
cannot replace
the sorrowed eyes
my furrowed face

this mask i wear
is so real to me
you seem not to know
you seem not to see

they pass me by
without a glance
i sit alone
in my own lonely trance

this mask i wear

isn’t

me.

this mask i wear

is all

you see.

This is about being shy and too afraid to open up because you are passed by.

If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. i'll always be with you.”

Wow. Just like a description of my life.

Just curious, is this based on your life?

This is a very interesting poem, and well worded. All though 'the masks' of poetry have been put on so many times, this is a new face; and I like the look. Well done with this well written piece, my friend.
