More Than a Friend

I knew you since birth,
But for years we thought nothing of each other,
Until the day that you were my best friend,
Until the day you were my brother.

We talked everyday,
And everyday I was sure,
That I was falling in love with you,
Until I found out about her.

She was mean,
And she was depressed,
She wasn’t good for you,
But I never confessed.

I wanted you to be happy,
I guessed that in a way,
Until the day that she ended things,
Ended on my birthday.

It should have been the best thing for me,
But you were so sad,
I wanted you to be happy again,
I wanted it so bad.

A month later,
I should have seen,
That we would have ended up,
Making out on my trampoline.

My mother found out,
And became so mad,
And so I moved out,
To live with my dad.

We were able to stay together,
And we were happy everyday,
Until your ex came back,
And got in the way.

We went off and on,
But it didn’t work out,
We fought so much,
Not knowing what about.

We didn’t talk for months,
And when we got back in touch,
The past repeated itself,
And it hurt so much.

So now you’re out of my life,
But I miss my best friend,
And it hurts more than anything,
To call this “The End”.
