My mind races
My face is calm
My heart pounds
I seem serene
I can't breath
Like my smile?
My eyes burn
"Oh isn't that nice?"
What is real
And what you see
Just another mask for me
Reality and Illusion
Two sides of the same coin

I'd also like to mention that Mary K. and Kathryn R. are the same person. I was logged into my other account when I posted that reply to you Elsy. But the accounts belong to the same person. :D

I liked reading this poem, finding that it has a lot of meaning. But I didn't think it applied to faking a breakup when I read it. Writers and their readers often find different truths in a single piece. Well done with this.

Thank you so much. I really didn't expect any of these to get published, but thank you for taking the time to read this and comment.
