I am the maximum security guard
That has built a gate and wall for my heart
Well you are the thief
Charged for breaking and entering

I am reluctant to appreciate a gift
Too eager to remember the hurt
Well you are the giver
That helps me to stay focused on the present

I am slow to trust someone
More than ready to accuse a deserter
Well you are the loyal companion
That refuses to leave me in battle

I am not quick to tell my history
Afraid it may be used to blackmail me
Well you are the eager listener
With a locked bolted chained place for my stories

I am impatient
When it comes to things that don’t go my way
Well you are the teacher
Who tries to show me the world doesn’t revolve around me

I am full of flaws
That some are quick to reject
Well you are opened-armed
AND appreciates, embraces and loves them all

This piece was definitely written from personal experience. I think there are alot of girls maybe even guys that feel this way. That type of relationship where "no matter what" is a promise not even close to being broken
