Go past the King’s rich gold crown
We heed the legend of Salem Town
Through the woods and through the mill
We hear the story of Gallows Hill

A tear falls from a lady’s eye
The children are frightened but they all give a lie
A servant is beaten till she gives a cry
The Heaven surround us, look at the sky.

The evil upon them, with dark and fear
The women left breathless, so close, so near
We scream in God’s name for he will judge
But the judgment is made, based upon grudge

Witches will cackle in vain
While the Mothers sneer with no shame
The deaths and the insanity stinking with fear
That child who laughed, oh what a dear!

The nooses are around the determined necks
The prayers are done, so go ahead check
Stones are placed on the brave man undressed
And then the board on him is roughly pressed

Death comes to us uninvited
Once again the prayers are recited
A rose is placed on the grave
A mourning of years is what we yet to save

So there we have the story
There was no justice, no glory
Only pity and hurt decided to stay
This famous accident we hear to this day

Come here, past the King’s rich gold Crown
We’ll heed the legend of Salem Town
Through the woods and through the mill
We hear the story of Gallows Hill
